Why WWE Banned Superstars From Bringing Their Pets Backstage
WWE is like a family, and that includes pets, It’s not a regular practice at all to see a Superstar bring a pet backstage. In fact, it might still be banned.
Tommy Dreamer opened up during his House Of Hardcore podcast about a time in WWE when they had to ban pets. It was just getting to be to much of a mess, so WWE stopped the practice.
“In WWE, there became a point where they banned animals from the back, because — and it was funny, it was always the women and there was locker rooms that were left horrible and there was one where they finally complained because there was poop left in the locker room, there was pee and the girls — because at one point it was like a zoo. I think four of the girls had animals and then one of the boys brought in one of his dogs and then WWE banned it. ‘You can’t have fun. You’re at work damn it.’”
We’ve seen WWE Superstars in recent memory bring pets backstage, but there was a camera on them. Perhaps this practice is banned in normal circumstances. That would make a lot of sense, especially considering today’s strict protocol.
