Jisoo was born on 3 January 1995 as Kim Ji-soo. She also has two nicknames: Jichu, and Chi Choo. Kim comes from a rich family in Gunpo, Gyeonggi, South Korea.
Kim completed Seoul Performing Arts High School, in South Korea. From there, she graduated from the Korea National University of Arts in music. During her school days, Kim used to perform both in school and in theatres.
In the year 2011, Kim was interviewed by YG Entertainment and was trained for 5 years after being selected. Later, she asked to join BlackPink. Kim made an appearance with the KBS2 drama ‘The Producers’. She also did several advertisements for some popular brands like LG Electronics, Nikon, Smart Uniform and others.
