Rossi came up to be the 4th in the Formula Master championship in 2009, in ‘International Formula Master’ with Hitech Racing, thus making him the highest placed rookie driver. The win helped him to achieve the second-highest tally in the number of victories.

In 2010, he joined the multiple-championship-winning team “ART Grand Prix” to the new GP3. He finished third in the ‘World Series Championship’ by Renault as the best rookie driver before making a move to other teams for other championships.

In 2012, he has switched to newcomers “Arden Caterham Motorsport” as a test driver. He became the first American driver to drive in a Formula One session since 2007. He continued to drive for the Caterham at various other times from 2012 to 2014 before departing the team.

After he left Caterham, Rossi joined “Marussia F1” as a reserve driver for 2014 when he finally made his debut in the 2015 Singapore Grand Prix. Rossi joined “Racing Engineering” for the 2015 season, finishing second in the championship before making a switch to the Indy car series with the Andretti Autosport team for the 2016 IndyCar Series.

Alexander Rossi made his Indy car debut at the season-opening Grand Prix of St. Petersburg where he qualified in the rear 19th position and finishing as the highest rookie in 12th position.

He won the Indianapolis 500 after starting from the11th position on the grid. He was named the season’s rookie of the year 2016 following his impressive performance in the races he participated in.

As at the present time, Alexander Rossi is still committed to Andretti Autosport after they confirmed they will still be using Honda engines in their race cars to which Alexander is a fan of. He has been driving for the team since 2018 season though he is yet to record a major first position win.

Rossi began the new season with a fifth-place finish at St. Petersburg and scored the first win of his 2019 season at Long Beach, where he repeated his success from the previous season. 

Rossi also appeared as a guest on an episode of Harry Connick Jr.’s eponymous talk show, Harry in March 2017. He also has appeared on The Rich Eisen Show on two occasions, in July 2016 after winning the Indianapolis 500 and again in January 2018.

Rossi appeared on the 30th season of CBS’ The Amazing Race with fellow IndyCar driver Conor Daly as his teammate.

On April 19, 2018, he appeared on the season four premiere of CNBC’s Jay Leno’s Garage alongside Tanner Foust.
